Joanne Hawkin
Matwork teacher
Joanne Hawkin has been practising Pilates since 2009 and is a qualified L3 Pilates Mat Work Teacher. With a teaching style that is calm. focused and detailed, Joanne’s classes are accessible with a balance of restorative and challenging exercises. She has an awareness of individual responses to movement and allows time for personal attention and explanation.
Joanne takes Continued Professional Development very seriously and holds a qualification in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates with Mama’s Pilates.

Joanne comes from a theatre performance background; training at Bretton Hall and the London Centre for Theatre Studies. She is an experienced performance teacher with a solid background in teaching and learning.
Before training to become a Pilates teacher, Joanne enjoyed using Pilates methods to support her performance teaching and practice; exploring techniques to encourage methodical body-conscious connections and an enhanced awareness of movement. She later found Pilates to be invaluable throughout her twin pregnancy and postnatal recovery.

Joanne teaches for Cscape Pilates, St Michaels Hotel and Embrace as well as tutoring LAMDA examinations at Truro High School.

Grace Sellwood
Matwork teacher

Grace is a Pilates teacher who trained with the Pilates Foundation in matwork and has worked with Cscape Pilates for 8 years. Alongside her work in Pilates, Grace is also an aerial pilates instructor (trained through Air Control Pilates), dance performer, dance teacher, harness based aerial performer, choreographer and mother, working from her base in beautiful Cornwall, UK. Grace loves to bring a warm and electrifying energy to each class. She loves connecting with people and thrives from the energy and atmosphere that each class brings.

Grace is a founding member of Freefall dance and Off the Wall aerial dance and is an Associate Lecturer at Falmouth University.

Charlotte Luke
Matwork teacher

"Charlotte has a passion for all things dance and movement and has been teaching Pilates since 2020. She graduated with a first class Ba(Hons) degree in dance in 2015 from Falmouth University and is currently training for qualifications in Level 2 Gym Instructor, Level 3 PT, Level 3 exercise referral and Level 3 pre and post natal. Studying dance propelled her to explore ways she could offer impact through a creative and health and wellbeing industries. She has a particular interest in finding joy and play through movement and fitness.
When not teaching Pilates you'll find Charlotte working as an aerial dancer with her own company Off the Wall, and she also teaches all sorts of aerial, movement and dance classes in the local area.
Charlotte grew up in Cornwall and in her spare time you’ll find her by or in the sea, walking the dogs, hanging upside down in a harness or seeking out some good food and a pint!

Kat Burton
Reformer and Matwork teacher

Kat has been teaching matwork Pilates and practicing sports massage for over a decade. With a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, Kat has always been fascinated by the body and the art of coaching. Over the years Kat has worked closely with physiotherapists and osteopaths, focusing on rehabilitative Pilates, she has now expanded her expertise by qualifying as a reformer Pilates instructor. This recent qualification has rekindled an extra spark, adding a new layer of magic to her classes. In addition Kat also holds coaching qualifications in Kitesurfing, windsurfing Pre- and Post-natal Pilates, as well as Exercise For Older Adults.Kat's classes combine challenge and restoration, with a focus on building strength, mobility, and balance. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Kat has also recently qualified as a Pilates teacher trainer, Tutoring others in becoming Pilates instructors themselves. Outside of the studio, you will find Kat by the ocean, surfing or kitesurfing, always drawn to the movement and energy of the water.

Sally Knight
Matwork teacher

Sally set up Cscape Pilates in 2010 and has been practising pilates herself for over 30 years. After training as a professional Contemporary dancer at Laban (now Trinity Laban) she went on to study with the Pilates Foundation and qualified as a teacher in 2010.
Fascinated by human movement and pattering in all it's forms, Sally is passionate about Pilates having reaped the benefits of attending specialist classes after suffering with serious disc injuries in her lower back as a dancer.

Sally loves teaching people of all levels and abilities and is passionate about promoting the health and well-being benefits of regular movement for people of all ages and stages of life. She has additional qualifications in teaching pre and post natal clients, which she has taught for the past 10 years.
