Sally Knight

Founder & Director

Sally set up Cscape Pilates in 2010 and has been teaching Pilates for 14 years, but has been practising pilates herself  for over 30 years. After training as a professional Contemporary dancer at Laban (now Trinity Laban) she went on to study with the Pilates Foundation and qualified as a teacher in 2010.

Fascinated by human movement and pattering in all it's forms,  Sally is passionate about Pilates having reaped the benefits of attending specialist classes after suffering with serious disc injuries in her lower back as a dancer.   She used Pilates as an effective way of managing her own injuries,  re-adjusting her postural tendencies and was able to maintain a successful career as a professional dancer for many years, despite her diagnosed back condition.  She is now delighted to be sharing her skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for Pilates and mindful movement with clients.

Combining classical Pilates with influences from yoga, dance and Feldenkrais, Sally's classes have a sense of flow, freedom and fun. Her welcoming and enthusiastic teaching style ensures that everyone in the class feels welcome and safe within their comfort zone, yet able to progress to more challenging exercises when ready.

Sally qualified to teach pre and post natal clients with the Pilates Foundation in 2013 and she has a passion for work in this field.  As a mum of two young children, she understands the demands that Pregnancy and Motherhood places on the body and enjoys the opportunity to create a vital space for Mums and Mums-to-be to focus on their bodies in a restorative class.

Alongside her work in Pilates, Sally continues to work in theatre and dance as a Performer, Director, Movement Director and Choreographer.  She is also a Lecturer at Falmouth University where she specialises in teaching Movement to Acting and Theatre students.

Minnie Edwards

Matwork teacher

Minnie has been working with Cscape Pilates since 2022 and graduated with a first-class honours in dance and choreography from Falmouth University in 2020. She has practiced Pilates alongside dance training as a form of body conditioning, injury prevention and rehabilitation for the past five years. Her classes embody a mixture of the classical Pilates repertoire and a contemporary Pilates approach to find ultimate strength, mobility and flexibility, ensuring she accommodates for everybody's physique and needs.  Minnie is also a massage therapist.

In Minnie's spare time you will find her on the coast surfing, in the hills walking, chasing the sunrise and sunsets, upside down in a headstand or teaching herself a new balance. She is a lover of all things movement and enjoys being a student just as much as she loves teaching others. To continue her professional development she is currently studying Pilates for orthopedic conditions and Pilates for pre and post-natal clients to further extend her knowledge and teaching.

Minnie hopes to see some of your wonderful faces in the studio!

Emma Hunt

Matwork teacher

Emma qualified as a Pilates Instructor with Body Control Pilates at the start of 2020. Having trained relatively recently, she is passionate about teaching with the same level of detail and knowledge that she learnt on her Body Control course and passing on this understanding of good quality movement.

She comes from a background of sport – sprint training, football and, in more recent years, snowboarding and surfing. Sport is a big passion of hers, but she has also suffered with injury on numerous occasions. Pilates has assisted her in overcoming an old back injury and helped her to build strength so she can get the most out of the sports she enjoys. Emma’s Pilates practice has now become her primary passion and she loves to be able to share it with others.

Since qualifying she worked briefly with the Plymouth Argyle Ladies Football team on Zoom during lockdown when they couldn’t train together, with Clare Meardon at Savvy Studios in Hayle and joined the Cscape team in the summer of 2021. Emma is also a qualified Barre instructor which brings together the precision of Pilates and elements of fitness. She is always continuing her personal development, recently completing a course in Bone Health and is working towards a qualification in Low Back Pain with Body Control, which is a specific area of interest.
