Sally Knight
Founder & Director
Sally has a passion for movement in all it’s forms, and originally trained in Contemporary Dance at the Laban Centre. After many years of undertaking Pilates classes herself, she went on to train with the Pilates Foundation and qualified as a teacher in 2010.
Sally is passionate about Pilates having reaped the benefits of attending regular classes after suffering with disc injuries in her lower back as a dancer. She used Pilates as an effective way of managing her own injuries, and was able to maintain a successful career as a professional dancer for many years despite her diagnosed back condition, and is now delighted to be sharing her skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for Pilates with clients.
Sally’s teaching style draws upon influences from yoga and dance to bring a sense of flow, freedom and fun to classical Pilates exercises. Her welcoming and enthusiastic teaching style ensures that everyone in the class feels welcome and safe within their comfort zone, yet able to progress to more challenging exercises when ready.
In 2013 Sally qualified to teach pregnancy and post natal clients with the Pilates Foundation and has a passion for work in this field. As a mum of two little ones, she understands the demands that Pregnancy and Motherhood places on the body and enjoys the opportunity to create a vital space for Mums and Mums-to-be to focus on their bodies in a restorative class.

Sally combines her work in Pilates and her work in dance, and creates work as a choreographer with Cscape Dance Company, of which she is the Artistic Director. She also teaches Dance and Movement in a range of settings working with all ages from toddlers to Seniors and is an Associate Lecturer at Falmouth University where she teaches Movement to Acting and Dance students.

Joanne Hawkin
Matwork teacher
Joanne Hawkin has been practising Pilates since 2009 and is a qualified L3 Pilates Mat Work Teacher. With a teaching style that is calm and focused, Joanne’s classes are accessible with a balance of restorative and challenging exercises. She has an awareness of individual responses to movement and allows time for personal attention and explanation.
Joanne takes Continued Professional Development very seriously and is currently working towards a qualification in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates with Mama’s Pilates.

Joanne comes from a theatre performance background; training at Bretton Hall and the London Centre for Theatre Studies. She is an experienced performance teacher with a solid background in teaching and learning.
Before training to become a Pilates teacher, Joanne enjoyed using Pilates methods to support her performance teaching and practice; exploring techniques to encourage methodical body-conscious connections and an enhanced awareness of movement. She later found Pilates to be invaluable throughout her twin pregnancy and postnatal recovery.

Joanne teaches for Body Restoration Pilates, Cscape Pilates and HD Pilates, as well as tutoring LAMDA examinations.

Minnie Edwards
Matwork teacher

Minnie graduated with a first-class honours in dance and choreography from Falmouth University in 2020 and since has extended her training in Pilates instructing. She has practiced Pilates alongside dance training as a form of body conditioning, injury prevention and rehabilitation for the past five years. Her classes embody a mixture of the classical Pilates repertoire and a contemporary Pilates approach to find ultimate strength, mobility and flexibility, ensuring she accommodates for everybody's physique and needs.
In Minnie's spare time you will find her on the coast surfing, in the hills walking, chasing the sunrise and sunsets, upside down in a headstand or teaching herself a new balance. She is a lover of all things movement and enjoys being a student just as much as she loves teaching others. To continue her professional development she is currently studying Pilates for orthopedic conditions and Pilates for pre and post-natal clients to further extend her knowledge and teaching.
Minnie hopes to see some of your wonderful faces in the studio!

Emma Hunt
Matwork teacher

Emma qualified as a Pilates Instructor with Body Control Pilates at the start of 2020. Having trained relatively recently, she is passionate about teaching with the same level of detail and knowledge that she learnt on her Body Control course and passing on this understanding of good quality movement.
She comes from a background of sport – sprint training, football and, in more recent years, snowboarding and surfing. Sport is a big passion of hers, but she has also suffered with injury on numerous occasions. Pilates has assisted her in overcoming an old back injury and helped her to build strength so she can get the most out of the sports she enjoys. Emma’s Pilates practice has now become her primary passion and she loves to be able to share it with others.
Since qualifying she worked briefly with the Plymouth Argyle Ladies Football team on Zoom during lockdown when they couldn’t train together, with Clare Meardon at Savvy Studios in Hayle and joined the Cscape team in the summer of 2021. Emma is also a qualified Barre instructor which brings together the precision of Pilates and elements of fitness. She is always continuing her personal development, recently completing a course in Bone Health and is working towards a qualification in Low Back Pain with Body Control, which is a specific area of interest.
